Community Co-Creator | Consultant | Facilitator

I am Rosanna Lopes, a dedicated community co-creator and nurturer with a rich background in affiliate marketing and a deep passion for building meaningful connections. My journey into community work began with my extensive experience as an Affiliate Marketing Manager, a role that honed my skills in relationship and partnership-based marketing. This experience taught me the importance of building lasting relationships and creating win-win opportunities, a skill I now bring to community co-creation and nurturing. One of my most significant milestones was co-founding and growing the Lisbon Digital Nomads meetup group, which attracted over 20,000 members on Meetup.com and hosted weekly events with over 200 attendees during the summer. This endeavor not only solidified my understanding of community dynamics but also fueled my passion for creating spaces where people can connect and thrive. I am passionate about intentional communities and have visited several, including Tamera in Portugal, where I completed their month-long Community Course, Piracanga in Brazil, and various communities in Mexico. These experiences have deepened my understanding of living in harmony with nature and each other, and they continually inspire my work. I've extensively trained myself on the topics of relating and community, and I've completed courses such as "Working with Conflict in Community" "Systems change" "Community building" etc. These courses have equipped me with tools that are essential for nurturing resilient and cohesive communities. I was born into two cultures, Dutch and Portuguese. I've lived for 4 years in Barcelona, 4 in London, and have been nomadicly for nearly a decade. I have a keen interest in cultures and sub-cultures and am very curious to our different views on what "Normal" means. I believe this helps me in the way that I work and approach people. My unique skills include creating and nurturing opportunities, event planning, promoting initiatives, and partnership marketing and I have a keen sensitivity to group dynamics, allowing me to adjust and respond effectively. I excel at bringing people together, online and offline, and fostering a sense of belonging. I can help where others might struggle by leveraging my diverse background to bridge gaps between individuals and groups, facilitating clear communication, and nurturing a supportive environment. I am committed to helping businesses and organizations create thriving, inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and connected. Let's work together to build communities that are not only successful but also deeply fulfilling and transformative for all involved.

I'm a passionate community builder committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through strategic partnerships and impactful initiatives.

With over ten years of leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship, I am dedicated to strategic transformation and project management that drive sustainable growth. My career is defined by an unwavering commitment to open innovation and social responsibility, catalyzing significant changes in the business ecosystem. My project management experience began with coordinating complex initiatives at INCmty, overseeing national programs that pushed the boundaries of entrepreneurship and innovation. Managing these projects required technical expertise, the ability to lead diverse teams, foster collaboration, and align every project element with a broader vision of social impact and sustainability. As Program Manager and Coordinator of Operations at INCmty, I led the HEINEKEN Green Challenge, a sustainable business initiative that impacted thousands of entrepreneurs in southeastern Mexico. Here, I honed my skills in coordinating large-scale initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving innovation with an ethical focus. Driving Innovation: Turning Ideas into Action Innovation has always been at the core of my career. As the founder of HackSureste, I created a platform that fostered technological innovation and entrepreneurship, contributing to over 30 startups. My role as Project Manager & Community Builder allowed me to merge my passion for technology with creating inclusive environments where ideas could flourish. Whether mentoring as a Master Coach at Platzi or teaching entrepreneurship at Tecnológico de Monterrey, I focus on empowering others to reach their full potential. I believe true innovation comes from enabling others to turn their ideas into reality, and I’m dedicated to providing the tools, resources, and guidance needed to make that happen. What sets me apart is my ability to see the bigger picture while managing the finer details of project execution. My journey blends strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a deep commitment to social impact. I’ve learned that successful project and program management goes beyond meeting deadlines and budgets; it’s about creating value that extends beyond the project itself.

Managed communities from gaming to automotive; I shine working with user group communities and voice of the customer initiatives..

My passion for building community started years ago when I was handling social media and content for my clients. Content done well generates community! When I moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area from New York, NY, I started managing SFTech4Good, then called SF NetSquared. With two other organizers, I grew that group to just over 4,800 members from 1,600. Since then, community-building has been at the heart of everything I do. A major accomplishment was joining Team Trailhead at Salesforce as a contractor.* In the approach to Dreamforce 2016, I learned there wasn't a special event for their developer community, so I created the first Developer Community Breakfast. They've continued that event since then. Knowing that they've kept that makes me happy as I'm still connected to many people in that community. I currently working through community management courses in the Community Strategy Academy because I truly believe that learning is a lifelong effort. This applies even to my hobbies as I'm enrolled in a painting course now, and I paint flowers and landscapes in my free time. My goal with community learning is to simply get even better at what I do by integrating that knowledge with the communities I support. My superpower is making people feel welcome. I'm outgoing, enthusiastic, and truly enjoy getting to know community members on a personal level. I also have a knack for bringing people together by identifying shared interests and facilitating meaningful connections. Most importantly, I care deeply about helping communities thrive. Please consider me to lead and grow your amazing community! *I was covering for someone on maternity leave.

Connecting people is my favorite thing on Earth.

Hello! I initially found myself in Community Management, way back before it was cool in a year called 2012. I was a CM for Yelp in Tampa Bay and did all of the things: hosted countless events, produced all local marketing content like emails and social media, heavily engaged with the community on the Yelp platform, participating in local media hits, working with the local business owner community and just about anything else one could think of. I then went on to manage a team of 9 CMs, and eventually headed up Operations for Yelp's Community team of about 150 folks across North America. After a decade there, in my time post-Yelp, I have had a couple shorter stays at CrowdStreet and DraftKings. At CrowdStreet, I went back to my CM roots and spent most of my time hosting in-person events around the country. And at DraftKings, I managed an online Community via Discord, with about 20K members. My passion, like most in Community, lies in connecting people. I get an inordinate amount of satisfaction from bringing people together of common interests. If that feeling of connection could be bottled up somehow and pay for my mortgage, I wouldn't need money to work in Community :) Because I've worked on all sides of Community Management, I think I am uniquely positioned to step into any Community role at any organization and prosper. I am a data-obsessed metrics nerd, but I also value the little things that can't be measured. I'm an introvert at heart, who enjoys work that some might view as laborious and boring, but I also the mayoral side of Community Management where I can have conversations with people until well past closing time. Lastly, I'd be remiss if I did not mention my supreme time management and organizational skills. I am a diligent practicer of Inbox Zero, which these days has become "Slack Zero". Communication/responsiveness might be my super power if I had to choose one thing.
